The Outing (Ep. 416)

Jerry is waiting at the coffee shop to meet with a girl from the NYU newspaper to do an interview. While waiting, Elaine notices that the girl in the booth behind Jerry is eavesdropping on their conversation. This prompts her to blurt out, "So what if you're a homosexual, why don't you two just come out already?" in reference to Jerry and George. It turns out the girl eavesdropping is the girl from NYU. She thinks Jerry and George are gay and George's actions at Jerry's apartment don't do anything to make her think otherwise.

She writes the article and it is picked up by the AP as well and pretty soon everyone they know finds out. Jerry's parents call from Florida and George's mom is so shocked that she falls off the toilet and hurts her back again. George meanwhile looks at it as a positive because he can finally get out of his relationship with his girlfriend that he doesn't like. She doesn't buy it though and he swears that Jerry will back him up. They go busting into Jerry's apartment only to find him on his couch making out with the girl from NYU. He had finally convinced her that he really wasn't gay, but George's stunt creeps her out and she leaves. He finally resorts to telling his girlfriend that's a porno actor, but she is turned on by this as well.

Interesting fact: First mention of George's porn actor alter-ego "Buck Naked."

Interesting quote: "Not that there's anything wrong with that."

Grade: A- (A very funny and once again well done episode)
