The Visa (Ep. 414)

George starts dating a lawyer who thinks he's really funny. Since he doesn't want her to think his friends are funny, he makes them act "un-funny" so he'll seem funnier. Jerry gets Babu a job at the cafe and an apartment in his building to which Babu is eternally grateful. Kramer is attending a Yankees fantasy camp down in Florida and starts a brawl on the field and gets the camp shut down when he punches Mickey Mantle.

Jerry while gone on some comedy appearances gets Elaine to pick up his mail since Kramer is out of town. He doesn't get it from her until almost a week later and finds a letter for Babu from Immigration that accidently got in Jerry's mailbox. He discovers, as Babu is being hauled away, that it's Babu's Visa renewal application that he had been waiting on. Jerry and Elaine find out that the woman George is dating is the cousin of Ping, the Chinese restaraunt delivery boy who is suing Elaine. She likes Jerry and Elaine though and gets Ping to drop the suit. Jerry asks her to help out Babu and she says she will.

Later, she tells George that she likes Jerry because he's dark and mysterious (because George told him to act this way). George realizing his losing his advantage tells her the truth. This only makes her mad at all of them and causes her to not help Babu and to tell Ping to continue with the suit and double the damages. Babu ends up getting deported to Pakistan and vows to saves his Rupees and get revenge on Jerry.

Interesting fact: Brian Georges, who plays Babu, was initially excited about coming back on the show and thought he would be a recurring character since he was working and living near Jerry. He was very disappointed when he found out he was being deported.

Interesting quote: "Kramer's at a fantasy camp? His whole life is a fantasy camp? People should pay $2000 to live like him." - George

Grade: A (Very funny episode)
